A life-changing working experience

Pros

- Two inherently immoral founders created a toxic and deeply broken company that, against all odds and by sheer accident, is financially flourishing yet for their personal benefit only - Shared pain and frustration builds a heartfelt connection between employees - A total disregard for causality brings about a unique atmosphere of aberrant surrealism - Fastest moving goal posts you’ve ever seen - Every day is groundhog day! - It’s the closest you’ll come to living an actual Dilbert cartoon episode - Even a short tenure here will learn you lots of dirty corporate secrets and provides for an inimitable insight in the dark sides of the human soul

Cons

- Fear, uncertainty and doubt - Random acts of management in a totalitarian style combined with ignorance and carelessness may be bordering on psychological torture for people with some sense of virtue

Pros

Free lunch daily Fun people, a nice atmosphere in some departments Great development team Lease car, private use allowed, saved me lots of money Game room, Foosball, arcades etc.

Cons

The fact that management asks employees to leave positive glassdoor reviews should say enough about this company. Employees don't even dare to be honest when they're asked to. Turnover of personnel is at extreme levels, unheard of at similar companies. Pay increases are promised, not granted, and denied afterwards. Multiple people fall victim to this. Many personal vendettas, which is reflected by the amount of people that don't 'talk' to each other unless absolutely necessary. This is particularly present in some of the smaller teams, however, this is contrasted by the others that are amazing folks. Lies lies and more lies. I've never been part of a company at which lying was so deeply ingrained in business culture. Internal systems are ancient and buggy, even community open source software is years behind on updates. Product launches with no internal communication, resulting in support quality issues. Con Zwinkels rules with an iron fist, in turn I haven't heard a single soul say anything positive about him or his character, save the few that acknowledge his flying skills. There is not a day without someone expressing their dislike about him. The Haarlem office is being treated as a sweatshop, there is only so much the manager there can do to undo negative effects of board decision.

Leaseweb Response

Dear former Colleague, I am truly sorry to see that you left LeaseWeb with so many negative feelings and anger towards LeaseWeb. In the last two years we have developed a.o. a job house, a salary structure, transparent remuneration policy and a LeaseWeb Academy. For Haarlem we introduced together with the Works Council a new shift structure based on the wishes of the employees. We also created a Global Management Team with dedicated members for every branche we have, in order to constantly improve processes etc. We have so many fora on which employees can express their opinion or give suggestions for improvement. You left the organization a while ago and it is a pity you did not stay long enough to be part of all the improvements that have taken place since you left. I would like to invite you for a personal meeting in which we can clear the air and take away some of the negative feelings. You can contact me at w.vandewaterbeemd@global.leaseweb.com, or via 0646593195. Hope to hear from you. Walter van de Waterbeemd

Poor management and company culture

Pros

Free lunch (and that is the only positive thing I can think of).

Cons

Very poor management., no long term vision. Micro management from boardroom. Lots of unhappy staff, apart from those who have been with the company since early days, ie who are in golden cage. Lots of people on senior positions who lack management and people skills. Much gossip and backstabbing. Staff turnover >30%.
