Pros

Pay Benefits Onsite amenities Recognition

Cons

A high salary is temporary. Your professional reputation and career stability are long-term assets. Evaluate the tradeoff carefully. Prospective candidates should understand exactly what they’re signing up for. Meta offers impressive compensation, prestige, and name recognition, but those benefits often come with a culture where employees and contractors can be treated as highly disposable assets rather than long-term investments. The company routinely conducts large-scale layoffs involving thousands of people, only to resume hiring shortly afterward. This raises serious questions about workforce planning, employee loyalty, and corporate responsibility. What concerns me most is the impact that leaving Meta can have on a person’s career. Many former workers report difficulties returning to Meta, securing positions with Meta vendors, or overcoming the stigma associated with being released during one of the company’s recurring workforce reductions. Whether intentional or not, the perception among many former employees is that the Meta ecosystem can become remarkably difficult to navigate once you’re on the outside. Candidates should look beyond the compensation package and ask themselves whether they are joining an organization that values long-term career development or one that views talent as a short-term resource to be scaled up and down based on quarterly objectives.
