Pros

A great product, great marketing. Great people from all around the world. Location is great. Salary and benefits are ok. Friday drinks are a very good chance to mingle with people. Respectable and approachable top management (I refer mainly to the CEO & CFO)

Cons

Your career depends 100% on your line manager. If your ambition differs from the path your line manager has on his/her mind, your career basically is stopped, if lucky - or you're even invited to leave. The fact that you are performing (or over performing) is irrelevant. No support from HR to employees. No career paths. Training is basically for the "high flyers" - which are again picked by the line manager, not necessarily through merit. Systems are jurassic. Flexible work again depends on your line manager - which in my view is discriminating. TONS of office politics, everybody is playing their game, not always thinking what's best for the company but only on their own careers. Work in silos. Company claims to value "entrepreneurship" but in the moment of truth, that is not the case. Extremely decentralized, makes decision making processes complex and long. And often, empty. Did I mention the office politics? :-(

Pros

A great big company with various initiatives to drive and build company's reputation. Great place to learn about networking and the importance of it.

Cons

Toxic place . This company is definitely not walking the talk. It preaches a lot about diversity, inclusion, sustainability etc. but it is only doing for the sake of raising its reputation. P/S : if you see many initiatives done and posted online - those are people who want to create a mark for promotion , to demonstrate they are doing something and/or to win some awards. Whether they believe it - it is another question. Leadership is appalling and very political. You need to be able to flock in order to grow in this company. Networking is critical to success. You need to nail your first meeting with your senior management team in order to create a mark for success. Sadly they made quick judgement on you and your performance based on short interaction or incidence, and that becomes your track record for long time. They claimed they welcome speaking up and sharing views , but be very careful when presenting reality picture or facts, it will not turn well. While many companies have gone retrenchment due Covid , including Heineken but the retrenchment process could have been handled better. Many have gone through traumatic experiences and the company could have treated the leaving employees with much dignity. Overall, it is still a Dutch company . Diversity nor inclusion is just a lip service.

Pros

You will learn the importance of networking, discover who you know is more important that what well do you perform and you will be a great at ‘marketing’. Work life balance is great - you get to enjoy the beers. Pays well but they only appreciate you when you are worthy and kick you out when you are not.

Cons

What they preach is not necessarily what they do. Most are done to upkeep corporate reputation , and if you see all those posting , those are done by people who wants to make their mark and gain visibility to grow. Perhaps the most possible way to be recognised and consider as high talents! The environment is rather toxic, lack of authenticity and lots of pretences. Lots of talk on diversity and inclusivity but the truly , this is a Dutch company Leadership makes quick judgement and performance is measured pretty much over coffee. Lead by example - yes definitely!
