I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2018

applied online, recruiter called me, then in person interview happened and it was a pretty straight forward interview about my experience and why i was looking to leave my current role
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Amazon in Dec 2020
Interview
the interview was horrible. the recruiter has you prep several scenarios looping in their leadership principles using the star method. however, the interview loop that last 5 hours with 5 interviewers, is not at all related to these scenarios. they ask very pointed questions about mostly conflict related scenarios that your prep may or may not fit the bill for. there is obviously a huge gap in communications between the interviewers and the recruiters.

I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2020
Interview
It was very simple, an hour interview that focused on behavioral questions. This interview is a before a longer interview that is much more difficult. They will let you know within 2 business days if you have made it past the first interview, and into the final selections.
