I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Luxemburg) in Sep 2014
Interview
I applied in June and received initial communication that they are interested in me. I replied and then silence. I tried contacting the woman who wrote to me in the first place - no success. Then I received another systemic response that they are interested in me (from another person). I had three phone interviews, all exactly the same with the same questions - more than boring and not challenging at all. But I got to the final stage being a series of interviews in Luxembourg. It took them a month to arrange everything, although it was quite a simple task in my opinion. I had 5 interviews in Luxembourg, all of which were exactly the same - questions like "Could yuo give me an example of a situation when...? or "Could you tell me about a situation when...". Five hours talking about exactly the same stuff. I was informed that I would receive the final reply within more or less 2 weeks. I received one after 10 weeks only after I emailed them. On top of that it took them 6 weeks to reimburse my expenses (they told me it would take them 4 weeks, I had to follow up twice on that mater). My general impression is that they are not interested in a person but in a machine who will not complain about long working hours. Not recommended.
