I applied online. I interviewed at Backbase (Amsterdam) in Nov 2020
Interview
It went well.
After an online chat with the company recruiter, I received an assignment that was a game. I designed and implemented the assignment and put in enough unit tests to cover the whole parts of the code.
Then I have invited for two other interviews there. The first one was technical. The whole interview went well in a great and friendly way.
The second one was with two engineering managers. It was less technical and more about my past experiences in my resume. They have also asked me questions about my skills and frameworks I worked on before in my past jobs.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical questions about my assignments.
Questions about the skills and frameworks I worked on in my past experiences.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Backbase (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2020
Interview
I got the first round which is a take home coding assignment through a recruitment agency. After my assignment was submitted and reviewed, I was invited to a video interview with one of the solution architects to discuss the assignment. This interview basically revolved around the implementation details of the assignment, so the questions might be different depending on your approach. The final round was a DNA/personality check interview where we discussed past experience, personal goals and company culture, the questions were mostly behavioral.
