I received an email response pretty quickly. Within a week we had a phone interview organized. The interviewer sounded pretty unenthusiastic, and asked barely any questions.
I then took the skills assessment. While I appreciate the coding section’s relevance to the role, other questions were pointless and irrelevant. Ultimately I think this hiring process is designed look great on paper- not to accurately identify the the skills, qualities and aptitude that would make a good candidate.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI) in Jan 2018
Interview
I would describe my overall interview experience with Epic as casual. The process began with a phone interview (more like a conversation) with a project manager. Then I was asked to complete a series of online assessments. I was then invited on-site where I had two more interviews, gave a 10 minute presentation, and completed a case study. The process was extensive, but never did it seem overwhelming to me. They do a great job of creating a comfortable environment.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Would you rather speak in front of 30 strangers, 6 colleagues you know kind of well, or 1 person of authority? Why?
After submitting my online application I was asked to complete an online test and schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was tremendously informative and helped me gain a better understanding of the project manager position and Epic as an organization. It was pleasant and conversational-seemingly as much for my interviewer to get to know me as for me to get to know Epic. After I completed the test and phone interview I was invited to Epic's campus for an interview.
