I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Jul 2023
Interview
Had a phone screening with recruiter which was pretty straightforward, talked through my resume and experience. My long-term and short-term goal. Was asked about my current salary which was a turn off and inappropriate. Then went through 3+ hours of skill test which is the same for any candidate no matter which position you are applying for. Did not get to the next step after that. I wish they gave feedback on the test.
Interview experience was fine. People were friendly to chat with and they help you gain a perspective of the role. Felt the interview glammed up the actual role far too much.
Pretty easy application, the typical information phone call interview was replaced by a Zoom webinar, which was nice. The real turn came when it was time for the first interview when they wanted you to set aside at least 3.5 hours, in which you need to prepare a 10-minute presentation ( on anything of your choosing). This isn't inherently bad, but for an entry-level position, that seems like a lot for a first interview, especially because they only do the interviews during "regular work hours" meaning if you have a job, you would have to take a half-day or day off to just interview, and not even be guaranteed a job.
