What is the difference with Object and Class in Java
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at FDM Group (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2018
Interview
3 stage of the interview process:
Over the phone: Very basic, 10-15 minute interview about your degree/major, interest in IT and FDM. Fairly simple and straight-forward.
!-way video interview: Recorded videos online with basic interview questions. It was a little tricky coordinating answer with the recording process. For my first question, I skipped the video which prompts the question and it started playing when I was recording my answer (?) This step was pretty nerve-wracking and very unnatural. Emailed my recruiter right after telling him how the video glitched on me but was reassured and was invited to the last stage.
Assessment day interview: Spent half a day at their office downtown. Had a behavioral interview and a technical interview. The behavioral was a standard interview and had typical interview questions. The technical interview was a great way to showcase previous work. They recommend bringing a piece of code you've compiled but I brought PM diagrams that I've created and my recruiter was fairly happy to review it and hear my interpretation of them. When you weren't being interviewed, you were in a room with other candidates playing team jeopardy. Although it was fun, its also a test of how well you work with others, energy, and basic knowledge tests as a recruiter was over-seeing the game.
Some of the other candidates had fairly intense majors/degrees such as Mathematics (Waterloo), Robotics and engineering (UofT), and many software engineers. Be confident in yourself and present yourself in a professional manner while showcasing high-energy and an apt for problem-solving.
