I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Google (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2019
Interview
First, I gave online assessment which had two easy-medium questions. Few weeks later I got an email to schedule two phone interviews. Interviews went well and the next day the recruiter asked me to setup one additional phone interview as they need some more data points. Two weeks later I had my third interview. It also went well. Overall, none of three interviews went bad, I'm pretty sure that I aced two of them. Few days later I got an email from the recruiter saying I'm rejected. No reason mentioned. I feel the bar is very high for the grad students.

Question 1
One question in each round with follow ups. All were on the difficult / leetcode hard level.
As expected from a Google interview, it consists of a phone interview and a technical interview. In my opinion, with the skill level Google is looking for, the interview is fair and accurately tests the ability of a candidate. I imagine the interview for full-time positions is harder, but as an intern, I felt that it was the right amount of difficulty and complexity.
there is no online assessment, very simple phone call, then two technicals. technicals are not difficult by any means. then you get put into team matching, after a couple months
