I applied online. I interviewed at HelloFresh (Berlijn) in Feb 2021
Interview
The process was lengthy, and had about 5 stages stretched over 3 weeks, but that seems to be a standard these days. Besides regular screening interviews, cultural checks etc. there were two technical parts: coding challenge and tech interview. The challenge was reasonable, but quite open. Basically I had to code additional features to the given codebase, with full test coverage etc. After the code got a positive review, the tech interview was basically about finding out why certain solutions and patterns were used, and a few open questions around that, on top of that some purely technical web dev topics. Also there were open questions regarding working in teams, code reviewing, etc, so not only about coding itself. After that I had a few more rounds for cultural check, talking to director, back to recruiter, and finally getting an offer. In my case the recruiter was very helpful and engaged after the initial tech interviews got positive reviews - you could feel the support to help you land the job through the rest of the process.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at HelloFresh (Berlijn) in Jun 2022
Interview
The interview process consisted of three clear and well-organized stages, with good communication throughout.
* **1st interview:** Conversation with a recruiter to assess my background, experience, and overall fit. At the end of the interview, I received a take-home technical assessment to build a simplified version of the HelloFresh meal selection experience.
* **2nd interview:** Technical discussion with a Staff Engineer to review my take-home assignment, explain my implementation decisions, and discuss potential improvements.
* **3rd interview:** Interview with a Technical Lead focused on system design, software architecture, engineering decision-making, and overall culture fit.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
* Why did you choose this approach to implement the take-home assignment?
* What are the trade-offs of your solution?
* What alternative solutions did you consider, and why did you decide against them?
* If you had more time, what would you improve? If you had less time, what would you prioritize?

Interview
I really enjoy all the process was nice and smooth:
- HR interview
- Technical test in React really fun to make and close from what Hello Fresh expected from a frontend engineer
- Technical interview
- Interview with a director of the company
Strengths
- During all the proccess the HR helps me about what expected
- All the feedbacks (except the test), was pretty fast
- I have good and feedbacks to improve during all the proccess
Hello Fresh was 100% transparent with me
Const
- The proccess may take a while, but I think this is normal in Berlin. The test review take too long, but it was an unusual situation
