Interview
Applied online through the company website and one week later was invited to an assessment centre for the following week. The assessment centre was very relaxed, about 20 people. Got an introduction to IKEA and what the next few hours would entail. There is a little bit of audience participation but voluntary and easy questions.
The day consisted of group activities- talking about our favourite room, picking a product and pitching it to your assessor and talking about customer expectations. All are just discussions on your table with an assessor present- we did not have to stand up and present to anyone at any stage.
Was emailed an invitation to an interview the following day.
Interviews had two stages, both, again, very relaxed. Ask about your experience, meeting targets and completing multiple tasks. Then had another interview shortly after, asked to say what you can bring to a team and to customers and to 'sell' yourself in a short time. Everyone is lovely, even to some who openly stated he was nervous.
People wore a range of things from suits to work trousers and shirts. Some girls in black skirts and blouses or shirts and a lot of people in smart jeans. Basically be a little smart but make sure you are comfortable.
