I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mastercard in Oct 2015
Interview
CV and cover letter; the first round was held in campus and consisted of 2 back to back case study interviews; both relied on calculations and profitability estimations; one of them was fairly open ended.
needed to think of how would their technology be used to check my recommendation
interviewers were friendly and helpful and made the overall experience pleasant
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mastercard (Houston, TX) in Oct 2015
Interview
One thirty minute phone screen followed by one half hour behavioral interview that ended up being an hour (by my choice!). I requested to speak to my potential manager after being made an offer and was also able to speak with him for about an hour. Overall, a great interview experience. Everyone was nice and very willing to offer as much information as possible.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Typical behavioral interview questions. I was asked to describe a project that I had worked on (the challenges/rewards of said project), what my interests are, what I want to do when I graduate, if I would like to live in St. Louis, asked to talk about times I displayed leadership/took responsibility in a group project.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Mastercard (New York, NY) in Oct 2015
Interview
The Interview process was very unpleasant for me. The first round of interviews were on campus and I was only asked 2 short questions about my previous experiences and work (behavioral type) and that was it. It took only 15 minutes and then I asked 15 minutes of questions. The guy who interviewed me, was over-all pretty creepy and I felt very uncomfortable.
A few weeks later, I was informed I made it final round of interviews. I went to NYC for a short 45 minutes interview with the hiring manager and one of his employees. I had to prepare a case study before the interview that I presented in 10 minutes a the end of the interview. They did not ask any further questions about the case. All of the questions during the interview were very strange. No technical questions, just about my previous work and what I had used. The interview was more about whether I already had experience with the technologies they used rather than my actual skills or learning ability. I did not feel like any of their questions were a good judge of aptitude for the position.
