I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Penguin Random House
Interview
Three interviews: one with an HR employee and two with the senior publicists that needed the assistant. Very easy and straight forward questions. It felt like they were looking for the right personality fit rather than actual experience.

Question 1
Why publicity and is publicity your true interest or do you want to move to editorial eventually?
Submitted my resume and cover letter through PRH's careers portal, and was selected to complete a preliminary written assessment, basically a readers' report on a manuscript. Then an HR screening with a member of their HR staff asking general interview questions, and then finally an interview with the two hiring managers.
