I applied online. I interviewed at Penguin Random House in Feb 2011
Interview
Standard Corporate Interview - No curve balls. There's an initial phone screening, followed by a series of interviews. In my case I was interviewed twice, by increasingly senior management. It took at least 3 months from when I applied online until I received the initial offer. There was a bit of negotiation around salary and work space before I accepted.

The interview process had been great. Initial 30 minute phone interview with HR, followed by an in person with the team, 30 minutes with each person. (2 people) About a week after my in person interview, HR called me to extend the offer, in which I gladly accepted. Overall, I had a pleasant experience with everyone there. Highly recommend applying for this company!
