I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at SentinelOne (Palo Alto, CA) in Nov 2020
Interview
In a word? Messy. They didn’t keep notes, dragged things out, were silent for an extended period (month+) before coming back. It is an exciting company but needs to tighten up.
I applied online. I interviewed at SentinelOne in Nov 2020
Interview
This process was a mess. Applied and maybe a week later was asked if I would relocate to the Bay Area. I responded the same day and said yes. Then silence for 3 weeks.
Had a phone screen with HR. HR gave me an assignment and then scheduled me with the HM the next day. HM started the interview by saying she was exhausted and I was her 4th and last interview of the day. Made me feel real welcomed. Was considering withdrawing my name after that but decided to give the benefit of the doubt.
A few days later, I got an email to schedule a time for a panel interview. None of the times worked for me due to travel/Thanksgiving. I immediately responded and got no response back. 2 weeks later I got a generic rejection email. What a waste of time.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at SentinelOne (Austin, TX) in Nov 2020
Interview
Multiple interviews with varying teams in various time zones. The recruiter was right there the entire time making sure I knew what to expect (who the interviewer was in relation to the position I was interviewing for, managers manager, manager's peer, etc) and was pretty quick to debrief me.
Recruiters have a tough job as most of the time they really do not get to be the one to give good news, mine was amazing and let me know where I was lacking and how I needed to prep for the next person. I was never given "answers" but I was given adequate and appropriate information to prepare.
