I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tech Mahindra (Bombay) in Apr 2023
Interview
Interview date: 04/04/2023 ECTC: 25 LPA Fixed Offer in hand: 21 Fixed, 2 variable, 2 bonus Posting on 05/04/2023 --------------------------------------------------------------------- I join the interview on time and HR allow me in. Interviewer joined 10 min late and there is a lot of background noise. HR took a screenshot with the Aadhar card and left the meeting. Interviewer start with questions: 1) Have you worked as a tech lead before? Ans: No, but I have mentored Jr in my team. 2) I can see you have switched jobs in 1-1 year Ans: there are reasons for switches and not in 1-1 year I have switched, avg I have worked 1.6 years in every company. (this is my 5th switch) 3) How many years of experience do you have? Ans: 7.5 years 4) So you know all about Java which is why you are asking this much( expected CTC)? So tell me What is a reflection in Java? Ans: I explained the reflection 5) Then the interviewer asked to write code to explain reflection and he added if you don't know still you are asking this much CTC? I don't like his behaviour, So I told him that I am not interested if you going on my expected CTC(Package). He started to justify that you are having less experience and your ask is too much so you should know everything. I told him if you are dragging my ECTC then I'm not interested to continue, I'll tell to HR who scheduled my interview, before hearing the interviewer left the meeting. I connected with HR and told him about this. ---------------------------------------------------------- My point is if the company is ready then the interviewer's job is to evaluate the candidate. Ask difficult questions and reject them. No need to behave like this.
