I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Tesco (Goole, England) in Jun 2016
Interview
The interview was in the store where I applied. It was myself and two other candidates. We were interviewed by the store manager and one other person. It was all very low key. We were each asked competency based based questions (3 each). You had plenty of time to think of an answer if you were not the first person to be asked. We were then asked to collaborate as a group and produce a short presentation on what makes great customer service. Finally, we were taken on to the shop floor and asked to work in three different areas for 15 minutes per task. I had to meet and greet customers, assist on the self-service tills, and tidy up the shelves. All very straight forward. The only thing I did wrong was come to the interview wearing open-toe sandals. Not allowed on the shop floor apparently, because of health and safety. Luckily they turned a blind eye in my case.
