Interview
I applied online for checkouts and completed a pre-interview screening test and then sent proof of my right to work documents. After a couple of days they asked me to come in for an interview. In the interview there was me and another woman who was considerably older than me (I'm 17). We filled out paper work and then I went to the checkouts to help bag while the other woman was being interviewed and vice versa. The interview was very straight forward and then afterwards we were free to go. She then told us the jobs that we get were dependent on our availability and that there was no vacancies on the checkout, even though it said there was on the website but whatever. Got a call 2 days later and I got offered stock control assistant.

Interview
I applied online and was called to attend a group interview a few days later. The group interview consisted of competency based questions, group activity (to build a tower using paper, scissors and tape), and then questions about how we did the activity as a group. They are looking for leadership in this activity. After the group interview, I had an individual one with the manager. And she just asked me about my availability and asked me to complete like a questionnaire. I was then told that I would hear back in a week if I was successful.. and I did. I passed the interview stage but apparently had problems with Right To Work Check so they did not offer me the job in the end. Although I think they lied to me.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Tesco (Newquay, England) in Oct 2012
