I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at UPS (Memphis, TN) in Oct 2008
Interview
I was offered an interview date right after I submitted my application. My interview was more along the lines of a job description and background check. There was no drug test involved in this process. They started me a couple days later for training.

Interview
I was asked basic questions(what would you do if you saw someone stealing...why do you want to work here, what makes you stand out among other people). you dont ahve to come all dressed up (a collered shirt and shorts are fine) Expect to purchase boots(perferrably before interview) ..after the intial interview your taken on a tour of the facility (this does not mean you've got a job) this is basically to weed out anybody that second guesses the job.they tell you up front if your there for the pay you should go ahead and walk out. if your hired you WILL be called within the week they put you in a classroom for a week to go through their cornerstone program and they give you a chance to go out and get yoru feet wet with your job and meet the peopel you will be working with.

Interview
I went on to the UPS jobs website and entered my information in. Then, I was given the option to make an appointment for a tour. It was scheduled for 3:30 am and there were no other options. I went to the appointment and was given a tour of the UPS facility. Then, there was time for Q & A. After that, they asked us individually if we could lift 70 pounds, if we could make it there on time every day, and if we were legally able to work. I could do all these things so I was asked to stay. Then, I had a one on one interview with someone from human resources. I was asked very basic questions about work history and schooling. It went very well. I was then told to come back the next day at 4:30 am. I met with the building manager who asked me a few basic questions. He asked me what I thought about stealing and what I would do if I saw a coworker stealing (the answer to this is always "I would never steal and I would tell on them"). After this, I was told I was hired and that I would hear back from them on a start date. It took about a month for them to call me and I started on a Monday. Hint: if you haven't received a call within 2 weeks, I would give them a call and see what's going on.
