Pros

Truly global and exposure to a very broad geographical and cultural working experience.

Cons

It's not a nice organisation to work for. Very political. Lots of empire building.

Pros

- Global company, global footprint - Highly interesting and challenging industry - Great working atmosphere when working with terminals directly (not HQ) - Decent salary and good secondary benefits (free lunch, WFH equipment, etc...) - Nice office building in the centre of The Hague

Cons

- You can have either an excellent time at HQ, or a terrible one, depending on your role and your manager - Lots of politics and power games. Senior Leadership not agreeing with each other puts a lot of pressure on the lower level - Lack of role clarity, lack of direction, lack of inspiration - HQ has poor employee engagement, there is little cohesion and there is no interest to change that, apart from the usual suspects - There is no people strategy, heavily operational focussed strategy - No external purpose. The company wants to become the best, this is their strategy. Caring for people is mentioned on the strategy paper, but there is nothing tied to it other than lose words. - Very high fluctuation in HQ, the years I worked there I have seen many and many people coming and going. - No development budget - no offerings for training if you are no manager - Poor IT equipment and tools for roles you need it.
