Pros

hardware company manufacturing servers in Silicon Valley and Netherlands is hard to find. local management is weak to say the least

Cons

While most tech companies encourage working from home in COVID time, company leadership yelled at departments for not physically coming to office to have a warm fuzzy feeling of progress made. Now each professional team has a quote of employees coming to office. Enough said.

Pros

Company products still a strong point to move company going forward. Find yourself another job if you have.

Cons

Political company; Deep Chinese culture. Royalty and kiss ass will let stay longer and survive in this company and get a promotion, not your performance or you are capatible. Chinese spoke everywhere; hidden hiring conditions is it's better you are Chinese spoken as your supervisor possibly also don't speak good English. Multiple programs are used in the company and all are not synchronized. Play the political game is the only way you will survive.

Worst company culture you'll ever see

Pros

Salary is not too bad and you don't need to worry about getting fired - because nobody gets fired as long as they don't have their opinion about anything.

Cons

Management is not selected on capabilities but on whether or not they are related to or are close to CEO. That means lots of incapable people with a huge ego. The EMEA office is an extension of the HQ and has no decision-making power. But even in the US nobody dares make decisions. So many rules that it's impossible to do your job: you are required to get a million approvals for every step you make. And the rules are not written anywhere, no one is going to tell you how to get something done, but they will tell you as soon as you do it wrong. Every man is for himself, there is zero teamwork. Every department is like a separate company, and if you have to work with someone to get your job done, you'll need to try hard to convince them to help you. No one thinks beyond the direct daily tasks they are given. A lot of people are not doing anything at all. All capable people leave because of the company culture that rewards being present more than any achievements: as long as your butt is in the office chair a good amount of hours plus you attend a hundred meaningless meetings every week, you're doing great. Obsession with tracking hours worked, lack of career progression, micromanagement like you can't imagine, resistance to new ideas (you'll be surprised how outdated everything is for a company that "prides itself on innovation"..), unclear management directions. The HR is there to enforce whatever upper management decides, not to support their staff. You can forget about work/life balance, you'll be required to sit in pointless meetings with the US every evening.
