I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Checkout.com (Londen, Engeland) in Oct 2024
Interview
The process is ridiculously long:
- 1 Interview with HR
- 1 Interview with Responsible for the department
- 1 (face-2-face) Interview just for Product Strategy
- 1 interview just for Product execution
- 1 (face-2-face) interview just for Leadership
- 1 interview just for Engineering
Is just an exaggerate amount of time and interviews. I honestly think this process is exhausting and too much. After weeks on this and not getting a job, is very frustrating.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q1: If Tesla wants to deploy a driverless taxi service in a country, how would they do it?
Q2: Please tell me how you'd create a product that is a transportation app for families.
Q3: How do you measure success for AirBnB?
Each question in different interview.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Checkout.com (Singapore) in Oct 2024
Interview
Started with a short call with HR, followed by on-site with hiring manager, who was clear in the role expectations and explained the wider team's roles clearly. The interview ended with hiring manager expressing some reservations and I was prepared to end it.
One week later, got scheduled by HR for a video call with a cross department manager, and a week later, followed by 3 more rounds with other departments. Got a generic rejection a month later.
Probably if they had decided to eliminate candidates after first round, it should be done asap and not after 5-6 rounds, which is a huge drain in time and resources for everyone. All the interviews were polite and willing to share their role and how it links to the hiring team's role.
Initial call with talent team, EM screening call, which was fine. Then, I had a system design. One person seemed nice, but the other was very rude and would barely let me say three words before interrupting. On multiple occasions, he would interrupt to ask a question that I was in the middle of answering already. I feel lucky that the process ended when it did because I wouldn't want to work with them
