I applied online. I interviewed at Databricks in Oct 2024
Interview
I had a call with the recruiter, we hit it off, he accelerated me to the first part of the process which was an interview with the hiring manager. The first interview was speed dating, lots of rapid fire questions with limited time to answer.
The recruiter never responded to me again. Despite e-mails, phone calls, voicemails, he never spoke to me again.
A week later I get the recruiting coordinator time request for the next rounds, which in order (after weeks in between) were technical leader, sales leader, and sales executive.
Very poor experience, overall. Databricks does not respect how much time an ace candidate takes to prepare for their interviews. Their interviews are rushed and fairly surface level.

Interview
A shambles.
- First interview conducted by hiring manager in back of a car.
- Three additional interviews, all of the attendees were late, and several times we rearranged.
- Call with the VP who asked me to confirm with HR if the panel interview would take place at the agreed time
- For the panel I had no documents and had to chase HR myself and meeting was rearranged.
- The panel were poorly prepared and provided no time for my questions. Very abrupt questioning and no 'thank you'
The lack of attention to detail was a good insight into the company. They have a reputation for this in the region I work in. Rely on the tech to do all the selling and this came across.
Better companies in the market.
