The process took 1 day. I interviewed at PwC (Atlanta, GA) in Sep 2010
Interview
You apply for a position through the campus representative. You submit your resume through your school's career website and through the PWC career website also. If you get chosen, your first round interview is on campus. They usually have a mid level to senior manager interview. They rarely have associates interviewing you.
The interviewer I interviewed with was very laid back. Some are more formal. However, they first go through your resume with you and you talk about some of your work experiences and leadership experiences. He asked me about my extra-circular activities as well. Then he asked why I want to get into public accounting. Apparently, they are supposed to ask you some behavioral questions about how well you work on a team and ask you about some situations when you worked on a team. But during my interview, he didn't really ask me those things. I wasn't sure why but we did spend a lot of time on my resume so maybe that's why. And then we ended with me asking him two questions.
Their second round interview is an office visit. You should indicate your location choice during the interview. You can choose locations that aren't near your school. And if you get chosen for a second round interview, you interview at that office location that you choose.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PwC (New York, NY) in Nov 2010
Interview
I recieved my first interview at a conference. It was with an HR manager, she was very friendly and personable. She told me about her history with the firm, then looked over my resume and asked questions about working as group or team and leadership experience.
When I went to the New York superday the group of us got to listen and ask questions to a panel of employees then had 3, 1 on 1 interviews and ended the day with lunch. Everyone was helpful and answered all the questions I had. From my impression it's a very competative atmosphere but everyone seems to genuinely enjoy working for the company.
My advice would be to research the company, practice interview questions, and have questions of your own to ask. Also try and show through your answers that you can lead, work well as a team, and are highly motivated.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at PwC in Oct 2010
Interview
First had an on campus interview with a senior manager that lasted 30 minutes...mainly just talked with a behavioral question thrown in. Was accepted for in office interviews where I interviewed for 30 minutes with a manager and another 30 minutes with a partner. Nothing out of the ordinary and everyone was very kind. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
