I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Checkout.com (Londen, Engeland) in Sep 2020
Interview
Initially a fairly standard interview process:
- Initial call with Hiring manager (happened to be a video call)
- Technical call with an engineer
- Technical challenge to do in your spare time (build a web app)
- Unknown further steps, see below
After completing the take home test and sharing the repository with their engineers, I never heard anything back from the Checkout.com hiring manager. I emailed multiple times asking what was going on but heard nothing - hugely off putting.

Questions around my current role, what i'm looking for, what tech I use in my current role etc. The technical challenge was to build a web application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Checkout.com (Londen, Engeland) in Sep 2020
Interview
Phone call with HR, asked me general questions about my experiences and then a few technical API questions and QA questions.
Next stage was video interview with someone from QA team, competency questions around QA: how would you approach testing, tell me about a time when you had to test something that was technically challenging.
Next stage was a code exercise, with 2 members of QA team. Code exercises that you solved on your own, some that were pair programming so you talked it through.
