Homework/DevOps challenge: They gave me an exercise to complete about deploying a modern application on AWS Technical Interview with the VP of Engineering and another DevOps. Final Interview with my future manager and a teammate

Applied online and got an email back from a recruiter within a week. Had a really positive call and was told to be on the lookout for a follow up email with next steps. Email never came and got ghosted. How hard is it to just tell me it's not a good fit? Very unprofessional.
