I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Mastercard (Poona) in May 2026
Interview
This was the first round, conducted on the Karat platform. The format included multiple conceptual questions and one coding problem to solve live. The interviewer focused on practical application of SRE principles, deployment strategies, and CI/CD pipeline design. The round tested both coding ability and system design thinking, and required clear communication of reasoning. Overall, the process was structured and professional, with emphasis on real-world reliability scenarios.
It took four interviews over four weeks to land an offer by week five. The takeaway? With 10+ years of experience, don't settle for anything below a Manager level role.
