I applied online. The process took 9 months. I interviewed at T-Mobile (Cincinnati, OH) in Jun 2009
Interview
I was originally working for an Authorized Reseller of T-Mobile products but was left without a job after some incredible (and irrelevant) circumstances. It was at this point that I applied to T-Mobile for a position via their website. Months went by and I didn't hear a word from T-Mobile, at the time I was desperate for work and I wound up taking an offer from another company. It was while working at this company that T-Mobile would finally contact me.
I was working as a Sales Associate with a competing Wireless Provider and was less than happy with the experience. Out-of-the-blue, nearly a year after applying for the position, T-Mobile sent me an email inquiring if I was still interested in a job. I stated that I was and began a correspondence with a hiring representative. Apparently T-Mobile determines if someone is qualified to work in the company and THEN tries to find an opening for that person, unless a store is in immediate need in which the store looks through the list of semi-qualified applicants and makes a selection of candidates to interview.
In any case the hiring representative first interviewed me over the phone- shortly thereafter they set me up with several different store managers for over-the-phone interviews. After several one-time phone interviews one of the managers wanted an in-person interview.
The In Person interview consisted of me sitting across a desk from my future manager and another store manager. They proceeded to ask me a variety of very typical and expected interview questions. After the interview I had a final phone interview with a manager from yet another store. Within a week of that final interview I was contacted by one of the managers present at the in-person interview and they offered me a position ABOVE the position that I had applied for. I accepted.

Question 1
What are some of your strengths and your weaknesses?
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at T-Mobile (Minneapolis, MN) in Sep 2010
Interview
I applied at T-mobile through Snagajob.com, a couple of weeks later I received an email from a tmobile job recruiter for an group interview in 2 weeks. I actually couldn't make it and had to call them up to reschedule another time. So the recruiter put me down for a week later.
I arrived at tmobile along with about 25 other people, this was a group interview I had never been to before and was weird. After you signed in and put on a name tag, they put everybody in a big circle and started the process. There were about 5 different store managers there for this group interview, turns out they have been doing this for every week for a while now. So first they paired everybody up with a partner. Unfortunately my partner was very overly talkative and didn't let me speak much when it was time to.
The first exercise was to tell your partner a fun fact about yourself, and your best customer service experience. You had to remember your partners fact, then one by one they went around the circle and you had to tell everybody. The second part was to make a mock up of a customer coming through the store and asking for help. One person was the sales rep, the other was a customer, then vice versa. We were timed at 30sec each go while the managers and everybody else watches you. After that it was over and it lasted about a hour and 15min.
Definitely never been to a interview like that before and was actually disappointed because I prepared for a NORMAL 1:1 interview the day before. Had no idea this was going to happen and as I walked out of there I knew I wasn't getting the job. I guess there cutting down on cost so they just do this to see who are the best people for the job all at once. If this was a 1:1, I would have been in there. A couple hints if you ever find yourself at a group interview at tmobile is to talk to every manager and every person there as soon as your through the door. Do a good job on their mock customer walk in part and be very talkative and funny because it was very laid back. Also hope you don't get stuck with a partner that talks to much and overshadows you. 1
